Brief History of the Brigden Name
The firm, originally known as Harry J Brigden & Co., was established by the late Harry James Brigden in 1913. Mr H J Brigden was a charter member upon the granting of the Royal Charter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1928. In 1950 he retired to become a consultant to the firm and remained active as a director of many Sydney companies until his death in 1978.
Two of Mr H J Brigden's sons, Norman Laurence and Harry Graham and grandson David Laurence have been partners of the firm. Norman L Brigden was in partnership for 20 years until his retirement in 1985 when he became a consultant to the firm until 1990. Harry Graham was a partner between 1967-1977 and David Laurence Brigden between 1977-1987.
